Terms and conditions.
Booking, payment, cancellation and withdrawal information for Spanlingo tuition.
Last updated: 9 October 2026. These terms adapt Bay Lingo's terms for Spanlingo's live online Spanish tuition. A written lesson offer may contain additional specific details, but cannot remove mandatory consumer rights.
1. Provider
Spanlingo is a service of Bay Lingo S.L. (NIF/CIF B56327810), Plaza Marqués de Seoane 3, Bajo BC, 20110 Pasai San Pedro, Pasaia (Gipuzkoa), Spain. Bay Lingo S.L. is the proposed contracting and invoicing entity for Irish customers. Email info@spanlingo.ie or info@baylingo.com. See the legal notice.
2. Scope and booking
These terms cover Spanlingo's live online one-to-one Spanish tuition for school, university and adult learners. An enquiry is not a confirmed booking and creates no obligation to pay. Before a contract is formed, Bay Lingo will give the customer the lesson format, duration, schedule or scheduling method, included preparation or feedback, total price, applicable taxes, payment method and any specific cancellation or rescheduling conditions. A parent or guardian must arrange and pay for an under-18 learner.
3. Prices, taxes and payment
Current website rates are €65 per hour for Leaving Cert and adult tuition and €70 per hour for university support. A written offer will confirm the current price and total payable in euro (EUR), including applicable taxes, before payment. Bay Lingo S.L. will issue the invoice if it is the contracting entity confirmed in the offer. Available payment methods will be stated before payment; the enquiry form does not take payment or card details. A payment for an existing invoice is not, by itself, a new tuition booking.
4. Lessons and educational outcomes
Lessons are provided at the agreed time and through the video platform specified before booking. Learners should have suitable internet access and a quiet, appropriate place to participate. Bay Lingo will provide the agreed teaching service with reasonable care. Exam results and grades cannot be guaranteed. University students remain responsible for their own assessed work.
5. Customer cancellation and rescheduling
The practical notice period and any charge for cancelling or rescheduling a lesson will be stated clearly in the individual offer before booking. Requests should be sent to info@spanlingo.ie. These arrangements do not limit statutory cancellation, refund or other consumer rights.
6. Right of withdrawal
For a distance service contract where the right applies, a consumer generally has 14 calendar days from the contract date to withdraw without giving a reason. Bay Lingo will provide the applicable withdrawal information before the customer is bound. If the customer wants lessons to start during that period, Bay Lingo will request a separate express request to begin; any charge for service supplied during the withdrawal period and any consequence of full performance will be explained as the law requires. Merely accepting these general terms is not that separate request.
7. Refunds and provider cancellation
If Bay Lingo cancels a lesson or cannot provide the agreed service, it will explain the available rescheduling or refund remedy. Refund requests will be assessed against the individual offer and mandatory law. Where a refund is due, Bay Lingo will tell the customer the amount, method and applicable timeframe. For a review, email the customer's name, booking or invoice reference, payment date and request to info@spanlingo.ie; do not send card numbers.
8. Complaints and governing rules
Questions or complaints can be sent to either email address above. Bay Lingo will try to resolve them directly. Spanish law may govern the provider's operations, but these terms do not deprive Irish consumers of mandatory protections that apply when services are directed to them. Nothing here excludes rights that cannot legally be waived.
9. Model withdrawal notice
You may use the following wording, or any other unequivocal statement, by email to info@spanlingo.ie:
To Bay Lingo S.L.: I withdraw from my Spanlingo tuition contract [booking or invoice reference]. Customer name: [name]. Service: [description]. Contract date: [date]. Date of this notice: [date].
